Cadbury Schweppes plc has reached agreement to sell its soft drinks
brands outside the USA to The Coca-Cola Company, for a
consideration of 1.85bn (£1.12bn).
The American Bottling Company, jointly owned by Cadbury Schweppes
plc and The Carlyle Group of Washington, DC, today announced that
it had entered into an agreement to purchase all of the outstanding
stock of Cotton Club Bottling Co., whose headquarters are in
Cleveland, Ohio.
Cadbury Schweppes plc announced today that it has reached agreement
to acquire Wedel, Poland's leading chocolate confectionery brand,
together with the related business assets, from PepsiCo for a
consideration in cash of 76.5m.
Cadbury Schweppes plc and Brau und Brunnen today announced the
extension of their soft drinks joint venture, Apollinaris &
Schweppes, in Germany and Austria.
Cadbury Schweppes plc confirmed today that, in conjunction with its
joint venture partner, The Carlyle Group of Washington DC, it has
concluded the acquisition of the two leading independent bottling
groups in the US MidWest, Beverage America and Select Beverages,
for a total cash consideration of 724m (£433m*) for the debt
free businesses subject to closing adjustments.
Cadbury Schweppes is pleased to announce the appointment, effective
of today, of David A R Thompson to the Board of Cadbury Schweppes
plc as a non-executive director.
Cadbury Schweppes plc has entered into an agreement with The
Carlyle Group of Washington DC to establish a joint venture to
invest in soft drinks bottling in the US.
