The acquisitions and disposals we made to develop our confectionery business, Cadbury plc, are summarised below.
2009

We complete the sale of our Australia Beverages business to Asahi Breweries, Ltd. for a cash consideration of approximately £550 million (AUD 1.185 million).
2008

We complete our non-core disposal programme with the sale of Monkhill, a sugar confectionery and popcorn business in the UK.
2007

We announce the acquisition of Intergum, a Turkish gum business, strengthening our participation in the fast-growing Turkish confectionery market significantly.
We acquire of 93.32% of Kandia-Excelent S.A., a leading Romanian confectionery business and increase our shareholding by a further 2.4%. Kandia-Excelent is the second largest confectionery company in Romania, with a 20% market share in total confectionery.
We close a tender offer for the shares of Sansei Foods Co., Ltd, a Japanese candy company, representing 96.08% of its issued capital and acquire the remaining minority interest by year end.
We announce the sale of a number of our non-core businesses, including Cottee's Foods in Australia, Allan Candy, a Canadian bulk and seasonal candy business, and Cadbury Italia, an Italian confectionery business, bringing the total realised from our programme of non-core businesses disposals to over £200 million.
2006

We acquire Dan Products, South Africa's leading chewing gum business, and a further 30% of Kent, Turkey's leading sugar confectionery manufacturer.
We increase our share in Cadbury Nigeria to 50.02%, and sell the non-core Grandma's Molasses and Slush Puppie brands and our Bromor beverages business in South Africa.
2005

We acquire the 95% we do not already own of Green and Black's, the leading UK producer of luxury organic chocolate
We sell the non-core Piasten and Holland House Cooking Wines businesses.
2003

We complete our acquisition of Adams from Pfizer for $4.2 billion (£2.7 billion), forming the world's largest confectionery business. We now enjoy leadership positions in sugar and functional confectionery and the number two position in gum while gaining access to major new markets, particularly Latin America.
2002

We acquire 43% of Cadbury India, taking our holding to 94%.
The acquisition of a 51% interest in Kent, Turkey's leading sugar confectionery manufacturer, provides a strong platform in a key emerging market. Kent has the leading share of the packaged sugar confectionery market (66%) and the second largest share in the chewing gum market (14%).
Dandy's branded chewing gum business in Denmark, with the STIMOROL, V6 and Dirol brands, is acquired, making Cadbury Schweppes number two in European chewing gum.
2001

We strengthen our Argentinian confectionery business with the acquisition of the Mantecol brand.
2000

We purchase Kraft Foods' chewing gum and candy business in France including the brands Hollywood, Kiss Cool, Krema and Malabar.
We acquire Wuxi-Leaf Confectionery, a manufacturer of sugar free and low sugar gum in China.
1997

We acquire Jaret, a US confectionery distributor.
The acquisition of Bim Bim, Egypt's largest confectionery company gives us market leadership in Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa.
We acquire La Pie Qui Chante, giving us the number three position in the overall French confectionery market and joint leadership of French sugar confectionery.
1996

Our acquisition of Neilson Cadbury in Canada brings us leadership in the world's eleventh largest confectionery market.
We acquire Craven Keiller in the UK, strengthening Trebor Bassett's position.
1995

We acquire Allan Candy sugar confectionery in Canada and merge the business with existing Trebor operations.
We announce plans to build a chocolate confectionery plant in Russia.
1994

We strengthen our European confectionery position with the acquisition of Bouquet d'Or in France and Dulciora in Spain.
1993

We acquire an 80% (subsequently 100%) share in confectionery firm Stani in Argentina. We start planning the construction of greenfield factories in China and Poland.
1989

We acquire Bassett's and Trebor in the UK and merge the business in 1990, our first major development in sugar confectionery.
